About Richard
Richard studied Civil & Structural Engineering at Greenwich University and Leeds University, beginning his career in 2004 with L+C Engineers. During this time, he contributed to several major projects, including the construction of Heathrow Terminal 5.
After graduating from Leeds, he gained experience in the mining sector before moving into residential and commercial construction with TAK Structures. Over seven years at TAK, Richard led engineering input on a wide range of projects, including multiple WeWork fit-outs across London and major residential developments such as Ashton Grove in Dunstable and The Chocolate Factory in Bristol.
Alongside these larger projects, Richard also delivered numerous private residential schemes involving internal structural alterations, basement construction, loft conversions, ground-floor extensions, side returns and drainage design.
Richard went on to serve as Managing Director of Atlas Structures for four years, where his work focused on both commercial and residential remodelling and refurbishment. In 2025, he founded his own consultancy — Frank Structures.
